The Garden Market is a weekly farmers market that takes place rain or shine during the winter/spring seasons every Wednesday. Vendors from The Market Company will be selling freshly made bread and French pastries, local produce, jams, honey, candles, soaps and more. Stop by during your lunch break or after work and let us help you figure out what to cook for dinner. The Garden Market is part of the Garden’s efforts to provide green living solutions for the community. Supporting local farmers and crafters keeps more money and jobs in the Miami area.

 

 

 

 

Yoga Classes

12:30-1:15

Yoga classes every Wed. at 12:30 p.m.We will also be hosting weekly yoga classes at 12:30 p.m. These 45 minute sessions are FREE for members with a suggested $10 donation for non-members. The classes encompass a blend of strengthening, stretching, and relaxation. The instructor, Kiki Fries, is known for her versatile classes which cater to individual interests, levels, and requests. Whether you have never practiced yoga before or you are an advanced practitioner with an area of injury, Kiki will ensure that you leave her class feeling refreshed, revitalized, and harmonized. A yoga practitioner for 14 years, Kiki trained at Ayama Yoga in Aventura, FL and teaches a variety of yoga classes throughout Miami. Trained and certified in Holistic Health Counseling, Integrative Nutrition, and Reiki, Kiki helps students to strengthen the body and the spirit while relaxing the mind. Kiki is a psychotherapist as well as certified addictions professional and seeks to address the fact that sometimes, our “issues are in our tissues.”

 

Gardening Workshops

11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Wednesday planting workshopThese workshops range in variety from cooking demos to DIY gardening projects. Learn homesteading skills, horticulture secrets, and new art forms. The March 27 workshop will be on seed starting. Growing plants from seed can be a good way to save money, but sometimes it’s not such a good idea. Come find out why at 11 and 4! Check back every week to see what the workshop will cover, what you can expect to walk away with, and whether or not there is a materials cost. Orchid Exchange

11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Phalaenopsis orchid exchangeWe host a plant sale and an orchid exchange every Wednesday: Trade in your current orchid for a $5 coupon off a new one in bloom. We accept all types of orchids, from the grocery store Phalaenopsis to the aged mystery orchid. With the use of your coupon, you can purchase single-stem Phalaenopsis species from the Garden for only $10. And if flowers aren’t your fancy, you can peruse our collection of palms, bromeliads and other tropical natives for sale.
