Miami Beach Botanical Gardens Sunday, June 26, 2016, 1:00PM-4:00PM PM.  This event is free and open to the public. Stop by the Garden to engage, explore and socialize. On Sunday, June 26, 2016
(1 PM-4 PM) Miami Beach Botanical Garden welcomes Edge Zones for an afternoon of performance art in the Garden as part of the Fourth Annual Miami Performance International Festival. The festival is exclusively dedicated to performance art, an artistic practice of transcending borders that is widely discussed today mostly using only language and movement. Unlike theater and dance, all MP ’16 performances have no designated areas nor are they presented on a stage, but rather on the floor, dissolving the boundary between the artists and viewers. Miami Performance International Festival ’16 is an opportunity for the public to come face-to-face with the breadth and depth of performance art and offers visceral and challenging performance works by renowned, mid-career and emerging artists from different countries, as well as more than 10 national and local artists.

This event provides an insight into the creative process across a range of media, and presents cross disciplinary, collaborative work that speaks to the high level of innovation, critical thinking, and social engagement in Miami. In celebration of Miami-Dade’s diverse art scene, works will be showcased across the city in a range of sites, including: the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
