Garden members are exclusively invited to the book launch party celebrating Raymond Jungle's The Cultivated Wild. Jungles re-landscaped the Miami Beach Botanical Garden in 2011 and was recently given an Award of Honor for the landscape design from the Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
The South Beach Chamber Ensemble's 18th season opens with “Czech It Out,” highlighting string quartets by Smetana and Dvorak on October 4, 2015 at 6:00pm at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884) is best known for his opera The Bartered Bride, the symphonic cycle Má vlast ("My Homeland"), and for his First String Quartet, From My Life (1876). After becoming deaf, Smetana began composing the string quartet.

StoryCode is a platform for emerging and established cross-platform and immersive storytellers to share their work. Each StoryCode Miami Chapter event (which is free to the community) celebrates artists creating immersive media projects in Miami. Two Miami creatives will present their projects and discuss their experiences, challenges, solutions, and their future ideas. Afterwards, connect with artists through a networking session. Ground Up & Rising is a non-profit theater group offering free performances in the Garden this summer. Join them for a reading of Pulitzer Prize Nominated play by Rajiv Joseph, Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo. Joseph's modern masterpiece chronicles the travails of a tiger roaming the streets of Baghdad existentially reaching for life's meaning. Set during this century's invasion of Baghdad, the tiger incredulously absorbs the myriad absurdities of war and crosses paths with soldiers, who are searching for friendship, redemption, and a toilet seat made of gold.

Cinema Green in the Garden is a free environmental documentary series brought to you by ECOMB and the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Coral City takes an exclusive look at coral as a living artworks and storytellers. Film, multi-media, and site-specific artworks take you on a visual story of the true potential of coral reef organisms. The film also discusses how rising sea levels, combined with government dredging projects are impacting not just the coral beds but the entire fate of Miami.

Marie Kolbert is a licensed pre-school teacher in her home country of Sweden, where she has been involved in arts her whole life. After playing soccer for the National Team in Sweden, she arrived in the U.S. on a soccer scholarship at Lynn University in Boca Raton in 1996. There she received her Bachelor of Arts in Visual Design. In 2000, she moved to Miami Beach where she still resides.
