Cinema Green in the Garden: The Great Frack Forward

The Great Frack Forward (25 min.) is a documentary based on a year long investigation into China’s burgeoning fracking economy. The documentary includes data visualizations and charts, expert and insider perspectives, and rich, on-the-ground documentary footage. Mother Jones’s Jaeah Lee and Climate Desk’s James West traveled to central China and uncovered alarming trends in China’s rush to frack with global consequences. The Miami Beach Botanical Garden welcomes Fairchild Tropical Garden's Dr. Noris Ledesma as a presenter on mango varieties of Florida and their heritage. She will also discuss the discoveries and findings of her research into different Mangifera species. 

Citizens for a Better South Florida Annual Gala

Citizens for a Better South Florida is a grass-roots non-profit dedicated to community-based environmental education that provides hands-on learning and promotes citizen-led action. Why spend money on another average dinner in South Beach when you could be enjoying a meal in the beautiful Garden and supporting a good cause at the same time?

Earth Day Celebration and State of the Garden Address

Join us as the world demonstrates support for environmental protection.This Earth Day, the Garden celebrates with a tour, eco-friendly reception, State of the Garden Address, and an environmental panel discussion.

5:30 p.m. begins with a tour of the Garden led by our new Horticulture staff and the Horticulture committee. The tour starts promptly at 5:30 and requires reservations. Please RSVP to membership@mbgarden.org.

Bringing about environmental change and awareness in our community is one of ECOMB’s primary goals. And this is exactly what the Cinema Green Project is all about Through the screening of environmental documentaries, ECOMB aims to increase the awareness among local residents about pressing ecological issues in South Florida and around the world.
