This FREE performance for grade-school children tells the story of Jojo, a kid who loves to read, until some kids start calling him names like “bookworm.” To avoid bullying, Jojo goes to Mendyl’s Magical Book Shop, hoping he can sell his books, but things take an unexpected turn as the stories in his book start to jump to life all around him. This fun multisensory class uses song, dance, games, stories, show and tell, art, and seed planting to engage your 1-3 year old's natural curiosity in this 8-week garden adventure. The Garden will be our inspiration as explore different countries around the world this summer.
Meldy Hernandez, the well-travelled teacher of the classes was a Peace Corps member in West Africa and has designed the classes to inspire the child’s curiosity about the world and their sense of place in it. The themes of recycling and taking care of the earth are woven throughout the activities.
