Miami Beach Orchids & Arts Festival

The Miami Beach Orchid Society and Miami Beach Botanical Garden are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Orchids & Arts Festival. The two-day festival will celebrate all things orchids including orchid exhibits, musical performances, educational activities, and a vendor market. The festival will also highlight native orchid species, aiming to raise awareness about Florida’s beautiful, yet fragile ecosystems.

Orchid Judging & Exhibition

Have a show-stopping orchid? The public is invited to bring their prized orchids to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden’s Banyan Room on Thursday, May 1 (12:00 pm – 5:00 pm) or Friday, May 2 (8:00 am – 11:45 am) to enter the ribbon judging and be on display in the festival’s orchid exhibit. American Orchid Society (AOS) judging will take place on Friday afternoon and weekend festival visitors will view the winners.

Live Performances and Fine Art

Performers from Young Musicians Unite, a nonprofit collaborating with schools to provide free music education, will be playing live sets at various times during the weekend. Nature-inspired art by Ashley Cesario, sensei Stephan Eberhagen, and other local artists, will be featured throughout the Garden.

Orchid Lectures

Festival attendees are invited to attend presentations by a variety of orchid experts covering a wide range of topics. Currently scheduled are Dr. Romina Gazis, presenting “Orchid Diseases & Plant Pathology”; Linda Pincus, University of Florida IFAS Extension, presenting “Orchids 101”; Antonio Davila of J&J Unique Orchids presenting “Latin American Orchids”; and Carlos Cahiz, of OFE Orchid Supplies, presenting “Tips & Tricks to Help Your Orchids Thrive in South Florida”. Lecture schedules will be updated as additional speakers are confirmed.
