Second Saturday Seminar: City of Miami Beach Sustainability & Resiliency
The City of Miami Beach understands its role as the poster child for climate change adaptation and mitigation. During this workshop, City of Miami Beach Sustainability Specialist, Rolando Martinez, will walk you through a presentation showcasing the sustainable and resilient features of South Pointe Park and Sunset Harbour.
Rolando Martinez is a Sustainability Specialist with the City of Miami Beach, known for his commitment to the environment and promoting sustainable practices. Rolando earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Master’s in Environmental Policy and Resource Management at FIU and has completed several professional certifications and credentials including the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s Envision Sustainability Professional. In his current position with the City of Miami Beach, Rolando is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing City programs and practices that promote sustainability and environmental conservation throughout the community. Rolando also works closely with community organizations to foster a culture of environmental stewardship in Miami Beach. His focuses include increasing public education and engagement, reducing the city’s waste and carbon footprint, and coordinating events for the Sustainability Division.
